you can go back

morning on the farm
As was mentioned in the last post, this past weekend (in a rather spur-of-the-moment decision), we packed up the car and drove to my parents’ home in Ohio – baby and dog in tow. Our intention was to provide both a vacation for us (extra hands to hold the baby is even better than a trip to Maui right now) and a chance for Clay, in however small doses, to experience his roots.

Clay was born in the corn-fed Omaha suburbs, and both he and Scott hail from a land where grocery stores can be found a mere block away, neighbors actually live next door, and lawns are a status symbol. But he also has chicken chasing, small town, wide open spaces, grass-fed ancestry in his blood.

And that makes all the difference.

Note From Scott: All this talk of Omaha while in Ohio makes me yearn for The Counting Crows.
