About the Blog

December of 2012 we found out we were (surprise!) expecting a baby. And immediately everything changed. In the wake of that pregnancy test, we suddenly became aware of a million things we had never really paid attention to before - from our lack of a savings account, to the amount of glass items on our coffee table, to the screaming toddlers that now seemed to appear everywhere. A little bit personal, a little bit informative, a little bit of a cry for help (we welcome readers’ comments and insight!), this blog is a reflection on the things we notice now as first-time parents. We update every Monday (Eleanor) and Friday (Scott). Thanks for stopping by!

Scott is a bass (and banjo) player, vinyl collector, and budding brewmaster. He's originally from Omaha, Nebraska, and he bleeds red (literally and figuratively). We're hoping the baby inherits his quick wit, musical talents, and amazing hair. Eleanor is a (broke) fashionista, urban farmer, and aspiring novelist. She hails from Granville, Ohio, but generally just roots against Scott's teams when forced to watch sports. We're hoping the baby inherits her imagination, big brown eyes, and (in a slightly smaller dose) Hungarian passion. They currently live in Omaha in a 1940's neighborhood where the neighbors still bring each other banana bread and know more about you than you might know yourself.

Clay David, born on July 6 (three weeks early!) is the newest member of our little family. He changes every day, but we can tell already he has a great sense of humor, likes to be the center of attention, and hates the cold Nebraska winter. He fits in with us perfectly.
And Puck and Plum are the pugs. They bring an extra dose of chaos into our lives (and we love them all the more for it).
