The blog has sat silent with increasing frequency this past month. Promised posts have been forgotten, entire weeks left empty. This is in part due to life's inevitable other demands (a birthday party to throw, vacations to take, a beloved dog to say goodbye to, a new job to start [Eleanor], classes to study for [Scott], perhaps another blog to launch [stay posted!]). But also - now a year into this parenthood adventure - there just aren't as many things to notice. That which was so new, and novel, and naive (dirty diapers, French giraffes, and the intricacies of onesies) is now normal, and natural, and (somewhat more) knowledgeable. We are no more experts in parenting than we were at the start, but, over the course of the year, we have finally found our rhythm as a family. This first year alone has been so incredibly challenging and transforming and wonderful, and we are so excited to see what is to come.
