generational influence

thank goodness Clay didn't get my ears
Clay is definitely his own man. Mostly because he is a blend of every man (and woman) before him.

The grandmas are equally convinced his looks stem from their side of the family. Exclamations of, “He looks just like Scott!” and, “He looks just like Eleanor!” can be sparked from exactly the same photo. And really they are both right. One of the neatest things about watching Clay grow is noticing all the different generations in him. I see his Grandpa Siemens in his eyes and hear his Papa Bru in his big belly laugh. He has his Great-Grandpa Brown’s sweetness in his smile and his JuJu’s dimple in his ears. Both of my grandfathers live on in his smirk.

Even his personality has started to take on traits from us. His easy-going nature is (obviously) completely Scott and his stubbornness (I didn’t contribute the most ideal quality) entirely me. Together they all combine to make the incredibly perfect and unique little person he is.

-Eleanor

Note From Scott: I'm still trying to figure out if this kid is mine.

  1. I love the new graphic up top. So cool. You are/were always cooler than me anyways. Both of you. You are like the cooler version of Chris and I. Possibly the more hipster version too. Does that mean Clay is the more hipster/cooler generational version of Kaiden? Only time will tell.

    1. That is not true at all, Bri! You guys are so awesome! And seeing as how Clay mostly goes around wearing clothes a size too big and pink diapers (they were on sale!), he's not off to a great start in being cool. Poor kid.
