A word to the wise: stay away from the Siemens clan. This
past weekend Clay and I got hit by a terrible virus (Scott somehow managed to
avoid it – we hate him right now). Runny nose, fever, aches, chills – you name
the symptom and we’ve had it.
I just want my mom.
But, of course, now I’m the mom. I’ve spent the past two
nights sleeping on the floor of the nursery monitoring fever levels, suckingout snot,
and swaying to lullabies – blowing my own nose in between. It all sounds a
little miserable put that way. But I think I’ve been trained for this. All
those days home from school spent on the couch watching Anne of Green Gables
and sipping chicken noodle soup were preparation for the day when I would care
for my own little one with an ear infection. There is blessing amid the snot.

Note From Scott: I have literally drank 47 gallons of Emergen-C. I refuse to be sick.
