the things we noticed then
It is one of the greatest sorrows of my life that Clay will grow up not knowing who Wishbone is. He won't ever experience the anticipation that comes from waiting months for the next Harry Potter and the subsequent exhaustion that occurs when you stay up all night reading it. He'll know Cory and Topanga only as the parents in Girl Meets World, and he won't learn about the sun and its stars from Bill Nye.
There will be new series, of course, and he'll too get to reminisce about those when he's old and out-of-the-loop like us. He'll be the one informing me at a certain point. That's the fun of it, the constant changing of pop culture. But thank God we'll both know who LeVar Burton is.
