so much can happen in a year

To say a lot happened in 2013 would be an understatement (like Wilco is a pretty good band and Four Roses is an okay bourbon). Because last year we suddenly went from this guy being our baby...

to this guy being our baby.

It was huge. And in between Clay's own every day accomplishments (you can't believe how much he changes in a week), Eleanor and I both entered our mid-twenties, there was the move to a new house, the addition of the other dog, and a few cross-country treks to visit the in-laws.

Which all goes to say I'm both excited and terrified for 2014. I now understand the true meaning of "time flies", and I want to make sure I'm awake for it all. This is the year Clay will walk and talk and start teething. This July our baby will be a year old. Thus, my new year's resolution is to live in the moment and appreciate it, having continual awareness of how much we are blessed.

Note From Eleanor: My new year's resolution is to cut out gluten. I live big.
