he's still just a little monkey to me |
They say blink and you’ll miss it when talking about kids,
that one minute they’re rolling on the floor and the next they’re packing their
bags for college. But I wonder if you don’t really miss things until they’re
gone. Because when you’re in the thick of it – in the midst of dirty diapers
and the day-to-day routines, I actually think this is the land where time slows
down a little. Not in a bad way, it’s just that babyhood hasn’t seemed to move
at that breakneck pace they talk about. My wife mourns every time Clay moves up
a size in clothes. She called upgrading from his mini crib the “end of an era.”
But when I look at my son he’s still so tiny to me, just the same as he was
last week and the week before.

Note From Eleanor: Apparently
you haven’t been keeping up with our Instagram account, because our little baby
is growing up way too fast!
