we have a lot of laundry

there are few things cuter than a butt covered in chevron
When Eleanor told me she was thinking about cloth diapering, I laughed (the same reaction I had when my wife told me she wanted to vote Green Party and go forage for food in the forest). But she was serious, and since Clay's birth I've slowly but steadily been brought into the (pre)fold - and all the washing it entails.

Unfortunately, I'm writing this on the heels of the most epic laundry disaster in recent memory at our household (I may or may not have washed my poor son's diapers with a pair of blue jeans and subsequently covered all his junk with blue fuzz - live and learn). But once you get the hang of washing/putting them on, cloth diapers really aren't all that bad, and there's no comparison in cost savings. In fact, I've pretty much taken charge of the whole process, with my own personal diaper laundry ritual and washing techniques.

Fatherhood is changing me, in oh so many ways.

Note From Eleanor: Are you implying I wasn't serious about the voting and the foraging? Get ready for a dinner of acorn spaetzle.

  1. All 4 of our used cloth diapers, but we had a diaper service. It was fabulous. We would use disposable when we would travel though. Loved the diaper service, it was worth every penny!!
    Love all the posts! Jana

    1. I think a diaper service would have definitely saved us the blue fuzz episode! For the most part they're pretty we love them though!
